Railway Recruitment

Railway Recruitment
Railway Recruitment: A committee has been formed to probe the alleged widespread corruption in the Bangladesh Railways recruitment by the country's Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The formation of the probe committee comes in the wake of a discovery of Tk 70 lakh from a car belonging to the assistant personal secretary (APS) of Railway Minister Suranjit Sengupta.

Reports say that the three-member body will be headed by ACC Deputy Director Md Abu Sayeed.

On Tuesday, the amount was seized by the personnel from the Border Guard Bangladesh when the car pulled over at the main entrance of BGB headquarters near Jigatola in the capital.

According to reports, two top railway officials and the APS, Omar Faruq Talukder, were in the vehicle besides the driver.

The trio's sources of wealth will also be investigated by the committee. Most importantly the railway minister may himself be probed. Sengupta has reportedly said that he will tender his resignation if found guilty.
